Last night was an evening of high fashion here in the Nation's Capital as Labels for Love presented Modus Union Spring 2011, featuring a Marc Bouwer Runway Show, benefiting Actress Fran Drescher's Cancer Schmancer, which Drescher started after her personal battle with uterine cancer to get the message of early detection and prevention of female cancers out there!
Not only was it an amazing evening to benefit such a wonderful cause, but it brought a Fashion Week vibe to Southeast, DC, as guests enjoyed a full runway show featuring Marc Bouwer's Fall 2011 collection! Labels for Love Founder, Mary Amons, successfully blended the world of high-fashion with a wonderful cause bringing together a truly cosmopolitan crowd of DC's Who's Who.
The ladies of the evening looking beautiful in pinks! Fran Drescher with Mary Schmidt Amons wearing Marc Bouwer's Fuchsia Jersey Gown with Kimono Sleeves.
As I mentioned before, Bouwer's dresses are exquisite! The show was absolutely spectacular and be prepared to say "WOW" as you watch sequins, fringe, kimono sleeves, dramatic shoulders, open-backs and so much more glide down the runway.
Bouwer began his career in fashion studying under the mastery of Halston (WOW!) and today has a successful Couture Collection that can be seen on Hollywood's Red Carpet and the world over! Not only is Bouwer an amazing designer, but he is also adamant that more should be done to prevent animal cruelty in the fashion and beauty world and beyond. In order to do so Bouwer believes that "we as consumers need to be aware of the process" and "it all starts with consumer education...learn how the things you buy are made...the dress, the jacket, your shampoo, your make-up" and "once you know it could truly surprise you and change your life," since so many products are tested inhumanely on animals. Plus, "with the latest technologies you don't need the real fur because faux fur can be made to look just as real," Bouwer said.

Oh and last but not least, one of the best dress gentleman of the evening goes to -none other than Mary's beloved, Rich Amons!
