The Dirty Dozen
For some, switching to organic food may not be entirely possilbe. In this case, knowing which crops have the higest levels of pesticides may be important. There are 12 crops known as the "Dirty Dozen" cause they contain the highest levels of pesticides, according to the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit research organization in Washington DC. These crops, above others, should be purchased in organic form whenever possible.
