Alkalinity and Hydration

Staying alkaline not only means filling up your tummy with alkalizing foods and avoiding acidifying fare but also keeping the body hydrated. As a rule, health experts advise that people should drink six to eight glasses of water a day. However, not many people are able to follow this. Some argue that three to four liters of water is impossible to drink but that should not be the case.

A simple solution to this is splitting it into manageable amounts and spreading the frequency to one glass of water every hour. Through this, you will be able to achieve your target of staying hydrated. You just have to remember to drink enough.

It is advisable to carry around a liter of water with you at all times so that you are constantly reminded that you need to drink up. Having water near you wherever you are is a simple but effective reminder of your goal.

To make hydrating fun, you can also opt to flavor your water with lemon or cucumber slices which are proven to be alkaline. Moreover, you can also substitute your water intake with other fluids like herbal teas, soups, and broths.

Staying hydrated for an alkaline body is simple enough if you just remember to drink up. So stay away from sugar-filled carbonate beverages and fill up with a refreshing glass of water whenever you need it.

More tips for staying hydrated:

Start each day with a large glass of structured water - even before you brush your teeth. Drinking structured water first thing in the morning replaces the fluids lost overnight and get your hydration efforts off to a great start.

Eat two or three servings of raw veggies and fruits with your meals, or drink freshly-prepared juices.  They are brimming with structured water and include the alkaline mineral electrolytes that recharge the body.

Eliminate toxic, acid-forming foods.  They result in a lowering of your body's water table, depleting your electrolytes. Then, the body struggles to dilute and eliminate acid wastes.

Avoid plastic bottles whenever possible.  If you work outside of the home, fill a glass quart bottle with structured water to take with you in the car, or keep it with you and refill it during the workday.

If you know that you get really busy through the day and forget to drink water, establish regular water breaks.  Tailor your drinking to meet your needs.  For instance, drink extra water in the morning.
